Mark Wilcox - Bio info

Insights into Mark’s work - Lost & Found seems to be the theme for a lot of material that Mark sings.  Such as lost love, fortune, fame, riches, dog, etc…  The meaning of some of the material is that good always wins in the end, the guy always gets the girl after losing her and good comeback stories like rags to riches, loveless to true love, etc…

Strongest Country Music Influences –Alan Jackson, BJ Thomas, Brooks & Dunn, Charlie Rich, Charlie Daniels, Conway Twitty, Daryle Singletary, Dave Dudley, Dwight Yoakum, Eddy Arnold, Faron Young, Freddy Fender, Gene Watson, George Jones, George Straight, Glen Campbell, Hank Williams, Jim Reeves, Joe Diffie, John Anderson, John Conlee, Johnny Cash, Johnny Rodriguez, Keith Whitley, Kentucky Headhunters, Marty Stuart, Mel Tillis, Merle Haggard,  Mickey Gilley, Ray Price, Ronnie Milsap, Sammy Kershaw, Sawyer Brown, T. Graham Brown, The Mavericks, Toby Keith, Tracy Lawrence, Vern Gosdin, Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson

Strongest Pop Music Influences – Andy Williams, Barry White, Bing Crosby, Blood Sweat & Tears, Bob Seger, Bobby Darin, Bobby Vinton, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Englebert Humperdinck, Frank Sinatra, Gin Blossoms, Jeff Healey, Jimmy Buffet, Johnny Mathis, Johnny Rivers, Kool & The Gang, Linda Ronstadt, Little Anthony & The Imperials, Los Lobos, Mel Carter, Michael Bublé, Paul Anka, Sammy Davis Jr., The Doors, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Tom Jones, Tom Petty & Van Morrison

These artists had the most influence on Mark because of their exceptional vocal abilities, creative musical arrangements, showmanship, and the capability of selling a song by making the audience feel and understand the emotional meaning of a song’s lyrics.  Mark strives to emulate their performances.

Achievements - Mark had performed in the Mid-West several years ago with a band that he formed in Lansing Michigan called DC-3.  During that time, in addition to performing in night clubs five to seven nights a week, his band had been the opening act at concerts for Blue Oyster Cult, The Outlaws, Survivor, Foghat, Nazareth, Night Ranger, Diving for Pearls, Jack Greene, Stonewall Jackson, Narvel Felts, and Jeannie Shepherd, to name a few.  Mark has performed all across the United States and spent a couple of decades living and performing in Nashville TN, Las Vegas NV, Houston TX, Austin TX, SW Florida and most recently in his home state of Michigan.

For many years, Mark honed his skills as a traveling professional singer and drummer working countless days in a row on the club circuits playing four to five sets a night, five to seven nights a week performing a variety of music.  These days, Mark is known more for his singing, although he still enjoys playing the drums and other percussion instruments and hopes to incorporate more of that into his act in the future.

While singing various musical styles, Mark’s passion has always been for country music.  He sings from the very heart and soul of the genre with a voice that is both strong and somehow gentle as well.  When Mark sings, you not only hear the lyrics, you feel them.
